Versatile Detection Mechanism
The HybriDetect system relies on a universal detection principle: the interaction between Biotin and Streptavidin (capture) and the recognition of FITC/FAM labels by specific antibodies on gold particles. This dual-labeling strategy (Biotin + FITC/FAM) enables the user to adapt the dipstick for various molecular targets.
1. Genomic Product Detection (DNA/RNA)
HybriDetect is widely used in molecular biology for the rapid analysis of gene amplification products (PCR, LAMP, RPA, CRISPR-Cas). As illustrated below, the specific probe (labeled with FITC) hybridizes with the Amplicon (labeled with Biotin). This complex is then captured by the gold particle via the anti-FITC antibody and immobilized at the Test Band by the Biotin-Streptavidin interaction, creating a visible signal. This method replaces time-consuming agarose gels.
2. Protein and Antibody Detection
Beyond nucleic acids, the platform is ideal for developing immunoassays. For protein detection, a "sandwich" complex is formed involving a Capture Antibody (Biotinylated) and a Detection Antibody (FITC-labeled) targeting the protein of interest.
Similarly, the system can be configured to detect specific antibodies (e.g., Total IgX) within a sample, offering a flexible tool for serological assay development.
