The Milenia Biotec HybriDetect Cassette (MGHC 1) offers the same powerful, universal detection technology as the HybriDetect dipsticks but housed in a convenient, ready-to-use cassette format. This "open platform" is designed for the qualitative or semi-quantitative detection of any analyte (DNA, RNA, protein, antibody) labeled with FITC (or FAM) and Biotin. The plastic housing simplifies handling, standardizes sample application, and protects the membrane, making it an excellent choice for point-of-care test development or field applications.
Universal Detection Principle
Just like the dipstick version, the Cassette utilizes gold nanoparticles conjugated with anti-FITC antibodies and a test line coated with Streptavidin. A positive result is generated only when the analyte forms a bridge between the gold particle (via FITC/FAM) and the test line (via Biotin). This versatile mechanism allows for the detection of a wide variety of molecules without the need for complex equipment.
Applications in Molecular Biology
The HybriDetect Cassette is frequently used to visualize amplification products from methods like PCR, LAMP, and RPA. The cassette format is particularly user-friendly: simply pipette the sample mix into the sample well.
