Product Description
Glycerol
Glycerol is used in gel formation of polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis as well as sample preparation. Concentrations of 5% – 10% will increase sample density so that the sample will layer the bottom of the gel’s sample well. Glycerol is also used in aiding in the casting of gradient gels, used as a protein stabilizer and buffer component.
IBI provides glycerol in two sizes to fit the needs of your lab. 500ml and 1 liter.
CAS# 56-81-5
- Used in preparation of polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis
- For sample preparation to increase sample density.
- Used in sample preparation to prevent freezing.
IBI glycerol is ideal for both sample preparation and preparation of polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis. A concentration measuring 5% - 10% glycerol increases the density of a sample so that the sample layers the bottom of the gel well. Glycerol is also used to aid in casting gradient gels and as a protein stabilizer and storage buffer component.
Available in 500ml and 1 liter sizes.
Packaged in a poly bottle
