Tris is commonly used in biological and electrophoresis buffer systems including Tris-Acetate-EDTA (TAE), Tris-Boric Acid-EDTA (TBE), Tris-Phosphate-EDTA (TPE), and Tris-Glycine (TG) buffers.  IBI's product is molecular biology grade, ultrapure tris.

Tris can be used to make a concentrated stock of buffer solutions.
