Molecular Diagnostics

Multiplex PCR panels and molecular assays for respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, vaginal, fungal and sexually transmitted infections.

Syndromic panels that identify multiple pathogens from a single specimen.

Why syndromic panels

Patients present with a syndrome, not a pathogen. A cough could be influenza, RSV, COVID-19 or several bacterial causes — and the clinical picture rarely distinguishes them.

Multiplex panels test the differential in one run from one specimen, returning an actionable result in hours instead of sequential single-target tests over days. For antimicrobial stewardship and infection control, that turnaround changes decisions.

Panels we supply
  • Respiratory — COVID-19, COVID/Flu/RSV combinations, and extended respiratory pathogen panels
  • Gastrointestinal — bacterial, viral and parasitic causes of acute diarrhoea
  • Urinary tract — uropathogens with associated resistance markers
  • Vaginitis — bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis and trichomoniasis
  • Sexually transmitted — chlamydia, gonorrhoea, mycoplasma and related targets
  • Fungal — clinically relevant yeasts and moulds
What you need to run them

Most panels require a real-time PCR instrument with sufficient optical channels for the multiplex design, plus an extraction step — manual kit or automated extractor.

We supply the full chain: extraction kits, thermal cyclers, PCR cabinets and consumables. If you are building the workflow from scratch, we can specify it as a complete system rather than parts.

Regulatory status

Regulatory classification varies by product and by intended use. Confirm the status of a specific assay for your setting before implementation — we provide the manufacturer documentation with every quote. Laboratories operating under CLIA should review validation requirements applicable to their certificate level.
