Bottle Top Filter Unit
Sterilising a litre of medium by autoclave changes it — heat-labile components break down. Filter sterilisation is the alternative, and a bottle-top unit is the convenient form of it: the funnel sits on its own receiver bottle, you pull vacuum, and the filtrate lands in a sterile vessel ready to cap and store. No separate flask, no transfer step where contamination gets in.
This is the 250 ml, 0.22 µm configuration, with a larger 19.60 cm² membrane that handles bigger volumes before blinding. 0.22 µm is the sterilising grade. The 0.45 µm clarifying version is 508253.
