SPL Conical Tube
Conical Tubes are widely used in laboratories from storage of samples to high speed centrifugation. SPL Life Sciences provides very high strength and non-toxic conical tubes to meet the demands.
Amber tubes add light protection for the contents. Photosensitive samples — many reagents, stains, vitamins, photoinitiators and light-labile compounds — degrade on the bench in a clear tube without anyone noticing. The amber resin blocks the wavelengths responsible while keeping the graduations readable.

54050 or 54150 — which case size?
SPL offers this amber 50 mL tube in two case quantities. It is the same tube in both: same 30 x 115 mm body, same 50 mL volume, same 14,000 x g rating, same sterility, and both are supplied in sleeves of 25 — neither includes racks. Only the number of tubes per case differs.

If you go through 50 mL amber tubes steadily, the 500-count case is the cheaper way to buy them. If this is an occasional need or storage space is tight, 54150 is the 200-count case.
If you need these tubes supplied in racks rather than sleeves, note that SPL does not offer a racked version of the amber line. Racked conical tubes are available in the clear range — 50150 (PP, 50 mL) and 51150 (PS, 50 mL).
