Product Description
The FP series is the answer to a specific complaint about ordinary muffle furnaces: ±2 °C is fine for burning off organics, but it is not fine for ceramics research, thermal analysis, catalyst preparation or any method where the result depends on the exact temperature the sample actually saw. The FP-413 holds ±1.0 °C at 1150 °C, with temperature fluctuation of ±1.0 °C and distribution accuracy of ±4.0 °C across the chamber. Those three numbers, published separately, are what separates a high-performance furnace from a general-purpose one.
Two design choices produce that result. The 11.3 L chamber is lined with alumina fiber rather than ordinary ceramic fiber — cleaner, more refractory, and less prone to shedding particulate onto the sample. And the heater is driven by a triac with zero-cross control instead of a relay: power is modulated smoothly rather than switched in blocks, which flattens the temperature ripple and dramatically extends heater life. The controller stores up to 99 patterns of 99 steps each with repeat operation, so even an elaborate multi-day firing or calcination schedule is programmed once. It also logs cumulative operating hours to 65,535 h and displays power consumption and CO₂ emissions — useful when a facility has to report energy use per instrument.

Installation Requirements
- Electrical: AC 220 V single phase, 18 A, 50/60 Hz, supplied no plug, round terminal. A licensed electrician must hard-wire this unit to a dedicated circuit. Confirm the circuit before ordering.
- Ventilation: vent the top exhaust port to a fume hood or exhaust duct when ashing organics or anything releasing smoke or vapour.
- Clearance: keep clear of combustible surfaces and leave free space around the cabinet.
- Surface: a bench or stand rated for approximately 112 lb.
