Product Description
Most magnetic stirrers are sized for a beaker. The Yamato MFH-810 is sized for a batch: it will couple to and turn 20 litres of water from a ø135 mm plate, and it does so with a neodymium magnet driven by a 31 W DC brushless motor rather than the small ferrite-and-AC-motor arrangement found in general-purpose units. That matters in chemical synthesis, where a viscous or loaded reaction mixture will make an ordinary stirrer's bar decouple and rattle — the point at which mixing silently stops and the reaction quietly stops being what you think it is.
The MFH adds a 600 W mica heater under the ceramic-coated plate, PID-controlled from room temperature +25 °C up to 310 °C in 1 °C steps. A PT100 sensor reads the plate, and a supplied external temperature probe can be dropped into the liquid itself — which changes the control accuracy from ±1.5 °C at 100 °C (plate sensor) to ±1.0 °C at 50 °C (in the medium). For any reflux or controlled-temperature synthesis, the external probe is the one that tells the truth about the reaction.

Installation Requirements

- Bench: a level surface. Remember the plate carries up to 30 kg of vessel and contents.
- Clearance: the plate reaches 310 °C — keep solvents, tubing and combustibles clear of the working area.
