Biological Safety Cabinet
Esco Class II biological safety cabinets, NSF/ANSI 49 listed, providing personnel, product and environmental protection for microbiology, clinical and cell culture work.
Class II cabinets protect the operator through an inward air curtain at the front opening, and protect the sample through downward HEPA-filtered airflow. Type A2 recirculates 70% of air and exhausts 30% — suitable for BSL-1 through BSL-3 microbiological work and the right choice for most laboratories. Type B2 exhausts 100% through dedicated hard ducting, required only when volatile toxic chemicals or radionuclides are used alongside biological material. Certification to NSF/ANSI 49 is required on installation, after relocation or filter change, and annually thereafter.
