Confocal Dish
Confocal and high-resolution imaging needs the sample within the working distance of a high-NA objective, which an ordinary culture dish does not allow — its base is too thick and the wrong refractive index. A confocal dish replaces the centre of the base with a thin optical window the objective can work through.
This version uses an F-Lux window rather than glass. F-Lux is a polymer optical base — it will not shatter, it is easier to handle, and for many fluorescence applications it performs comparably to glass while avoiding the fragility. The window is 20 mm, giving a 3.14 cm² confocal region, and the surface is treated for cell adhesion. It also has an external grip, which the glass versions of the same size do not.
