Product Description
A spray dryer turns a liquid straight into a dry powder in one pass. The feed is atomised into a hot air stream, the droplets dry in flight, and powder drops out the bottom — no filtration, no separation, no milling afterwards. For heat-sensitive material the trick is that each droplet is tiny and dries in a fraction of a second, so the particle itself never reaches the inlet air temperature.
The ADL-311S is Yamato's most compact and most affordable spray dryer: bench-top or on castors, evaporating up to 1300 mL/h of water. It suits formulation work, encapsulation, ceramics, food and pharmaceutical R&D where sample is scarce and a pilot-scale dryer would be absurd.
How this model is built up: This listing is the main unit only. To spray-dry you also need the GF300 Pulvis mini-spray attachment. If you want both in one order, buy the ADL-311SA — that is exactly this unit plus the GF300, and it costs the same as buying the two separately.
Key Features
- 40 to 220 °C inlet temperature, ±1 °C — low enough for heat-sensitive actives, high enough for fast evaporation
- Two-way nozzle, No. 1A (0.4 mm) as standard
- Drying air 0 to 0.7 m³/min and spray air 0 to 0.3 MPa, both continuously adjustable
- Peristaltic feed pump, 0 to 26 mL/min — the sample only ever touches tubing, so cleaning is a tube change
- Manual pulse-jet nozzle cleaning — clears a blocking nozzle without stopping the run and losing the batch
- PID digital control with K thermocouple and a touch panel for blower, heater, pump and pulse jet
- 4–20 mA outputs for inlet and outlet temperature, so the run can be logged externally
- Inlet or outlet temperature control, selectable
- Service outlet for a sample stirrer (AC 115 V, max 2 A) — keeps a suspension homogeneous while it feeds
- Compact: 580 × 420 × 1125 mm, 80 kg

Safety Features
- Inlet and outlet overheat protection
- Sample feed reverse-rotation mechanism — backs the feed out rather than forcing it into a blocked line
- Overcurrent and electrical leakage breaker
- Nozzle connection error detection — the unit will not heat with the nozzle wrongly fitted
What's Included
- ADL-311S main unit
- Silicone tubes with stopper (3)
- Exhaust duct with hose band (1)
- Outlet temperature sensor
- Spray air tube
- Static electricity removal earth
- Instruction manual
Not included: GF300 Pulvis mini-spray attachment, air compressor, GAS-410 solvent recovery unit, and product collecting containers.
Installation Requirements
- Electrical: single phase AC 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 16–18 A. Terminal switching is required for your voltage — this is an electrician's job, not a plug change.
- Compressed air: an air compressor is required for water-soluble samples and is sold separately. For organic solvents the compressor built into the GAS-410 is used instead, so no separate compressor is needed.
- Exhaust: ø50 mm exhaust connection. Duct it out or to a hood — you are venting hot, humid air and whatever did not condense.
- Organic solvents: require the GAS-410 solvent recovery unit. Do not run flammable solvents on an open-cycle machine.
