Hand-washing laboratory glassware is the least controlled step in most laboratories. Two technicians do not scrub the same way, nobody rinses a narrow-neck flask to the same standard twice, and detergent residue left inside a flask becomes somebody's unexplained result three weeks later. A glassware washer turns that into a cycle: same water pressure, same temperature, same duration, every load.
The AWD series is built around making the process visible as well as repeatable. Colour-coded lighting shows which stage the cycle is in from across the room, and a large double-glazed window lets you watch the load — glazed twice specifically so the outer surface stays cool to the touch even during hot-water disinfection at 93 °C. Rotating nozzle showers at top, middle and bottom mean the spray reaches every level of the rack rather than washing the top shelf well and the bottom shelf badly.
The sliding two-tier rack is the practical part: it pulls out to load, and it doubles the glassware you get through in one cycle. Washing runs at 45–80 °C for pre-wash and wash, and 45–93 °C for rinse and final wash — that upper number is what makes thermal disinfection possible rather than just cleaning.

The deciding question is whether you need thermal disinfection. The AW-47 washes well to 60 °C, which is fine for ordinary glassware. Only the AWD models reach 93 °C, the temperature at which the rinse is also disinfecting the load — which is what a microbiology or clinical laboratory usually needs. Between the two AWD models, the DRY version adds a pre-drying stage for $2,280: worth it if your bottleneck is drying racks rather than washing capacity.
Installation Requirements
- Electrical: AC 220 V.
- Water: a supply and a drain.
- Detergent: use a laboratory-grade washer detergent — domestic dishwasher detergent leaves residues that will show up in your results.
- Bench: a surface rated for approximately 280 lb, plus clearance for the sliding rack to pull out fully.
- Racks and inserts are selected to match your glassware — tell us what you wash and we will specify them.
