Hand-washing laboratory glassware is the least controlled step in most laboratories. Two technicians do not scrub the same way, nobody rinses a narrow-neck flask to the same standard twice, and detergent residue left inside a flask becomes somebody's unexplained result three weeks later. A glassware washer turns that into a cycle: same water pressure, same temperature, same duration, every load.
The AW-47 does that at bench scale, with two-way pressurised water — rotating jet nozzles spraying both upward and downward — rather than a single spray arm. Operation is deliberately simple: set the time and press start.
The detail that saves an installation project is the built-in water heater. There is no boiler piping to run and no separate water heating system to specify, which is the difference between plumbing a washer in and commissioning one. Washing water runs from ambient up to 60 °C.

The deciding question is whether you need thermal disinfection. The AW-47 washes well to 60 °C, which is fine for ordinary glassware. Only the AWD models reach 93 °C, the temperature at which the rinse is also disinfecting the load — which is what a microbiology or clinical laboratory usually needs. Between the two AWD models, the DRY version adds a pre-drying stage for $2,280: worth it if your bottleneck is drying racks rather than washing capacity.
Installation Requirements
- Electrical: AC 220 V.
- Water: a supply and a drain. The built-in heater means no separate hot water supply or boiler piping is needed.
- Detergent: use a laboratory-grade washer detergent — domestic dishwasher detergent leaves residues that will show up in your results.
- Bench: a surface rated for approximately 200 lb.
- Optional jet rack recommended for narrow-neck or narrow-bodied glassware.
