Product Description
This is the complete working rotary evaporator: the digital RE-212-A main unit, a 5 litre heating bath, and a full borosilicate glass set — condenser, rotary joint, evaporation flask, receiving flask, clamps, vacuum seal and insulation kit. Choose the bath and the glassware above and the system arrives ready to assemble; you supply only a vacuum pump and chilled water.
Two decisions matter, and they are the two the selector above asks you to make.
Water bath or oil bath. A water bath (BM-312-A) is cheaper, cleaner and right for almost everything — but it loses volume to evaporation above about 90 °C and cannot be pushed much past 100 °C. An oil bath (BO-312-A) reaches higher, which is what you need when the solvent is high-boiling even under vacuum, or when the residue must be held warm to stay pourable. Oil is messier and needs the right fluid; we can specify it.
Glassware A, B or C. These are not cosmetic variations:
- Glassware A — standard diagonal. The classic layout, condenser angled down and away. Lowest overall height (534 mm), which matters under a bench shelf. Suction port GL-14 at the lower position. This is the default choice for routine solvent removal.
- Glassware B — vertical, high boiling point. The condenser stands upright (overall height 745 mm) with a supporting bracket, and the suction port moves to the upper position. The vertical path gives vapour a longer, cooler run before it reaches the pump — the configuration for high-boiling solvents where a diagonal condenser lets vapour through.
- Glassware C — cold finger, vertical. A cold-finger condenser in the vertical arrangement. Use it where you want a dry-ice or chiller-fed finger rather than a jacketed flow condenser — very low-boiling solvents, or where cooling water supply is the constraint.
All three share the same double corrugated cooling tube with 0.143 m² of cooling surface, and all three accept 50–2000 mL evaporation flasks and 100–2000 mL receiving flasks.

Installation Requirements
- Electrical: AC 200–230 V single phase, 1 A, 50/60 Hz, supplied without plug (round terminal) — a licensed electrician must connect it. The heating bath draws separately; confirm both circuits.
- Vacuum source: required and not included. An oil-free diaphragm pump (N820GKIT) is the right choice for solvent work — a rotary vane pump will be destroyed by solvent vapour unless properly trapped.
- Cooling: the condenser needs chilled water. A recirculating chiller (CF-313Y) is far more effective than tap water and uses none.
- Height: glassware B and C stand 745 mm tall. Measure the clearance under your bench shelf before choosing.
- Bath fluid: for oil-bath configurations, the fluid is not included and the bath must never be run dry.
