Milenia Biotec GenLine Megasphaera/Pectinatus Screen (MGScMP 1)
PCR Detection of Beer Spoiling Megasphaera sp. and Pectinatus sp.
The GenLine Megasphaera/Pectinatus Screen is a PCR module for the qualitative detection of the obligate anaerobic beer spoilers Megasphaera sp. and Pectinatus sp. In addition to enrichments and colonies, it can be used with the Milenia swab workflow (MGES 1 Extraction System and MGSDB Swab Detection Buffer) for direct detection from hygiene swabs, helping breweries locate hygiene weak points and biofilm hotspots on the day of sampling.
Milenia GenLine is a modular system: each PCR Module (MGScLP 1, MGScMP 1, MGScHOR 1) contains the amplification reagents only, and results are read on the lateral flow dipsticks of the PCR Universal Module (MGUP 1), which is ordered separately.
